iCarsoft sells OBD2/OBD1 diagnostic scanners across more than a dozen product lines, from a $69 code reader up to a $3,499.99 heavy-duty unit. This guide covers how the series actually differ, what iCarsoft publishes about shipping, returns, and warranty, and the handful of places where the brand's own policy pages disagree with each other.

iCarsoft makes OBD2 and OBD1 diagnostic scanners for cars, motorcycles, heavy trucks, and boats, sold directly from its own site rather than through retailers.

Who iCarsoft sells to and what it sells

The company behind the US storefront is TitanX Limited, based in Hong Kong, and the site calls itself the "iCarsoft Official Authorized Store." iCarsoft the manufacturer runs a separate site at icarsoft.com, so the US store is a distributor, not the factory. The homepage claims "1,780,000+ global customers," "120+ countries," "16 years" in business, and "500+ patents" — none of those figures come with an independent source or a date, so they read as marketing language the brand has not independently confirmed.

The buyer this store fits is a home mechanic or independent shop that wants more diagnostic depth than a basic code reader but doesn't want dealer prices for a factory tool. The catalogue runs from a $69 entry-level reader to a $3,499.99 professional unit, so the real work is matching the tier to the car, not just picking by price.

The real axis: which series fits which job

iCarsoft's lineup isn't organized by trim level — it's organized by how many vehicles you need to cover and how deep into each system you need to go. Four groups matter:

CR Series — the multi-brand line, covering many manufacturers from one device. This is where the color-screen, Android-based units with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and bidirectional controls live.

i-Series — the budget engine-scanner line (i800 Plus, i820, and others), built for basic code reading rather than deep bidirectional testing.

Single-Brand Series (MB, BMM, POR, VAWS, LR, US, OP, FD, CP, DE, and others) — trades "covers everything" for deeper access to one manufacturer family: Mercedes-Benz, BMW/Mini, Porsche, VW/Audi, Jaguar/Land Rover, and more.

Heavy-Duty & Motorcycle units (HD V3.0, HD V4.0, HD6000, the MT line, the MarineScan X9) — step outside passenger cars entirely, covering trucks, bikes, and boats.

What each line actually offers

The CR Series spans a wide range. The CR Elite ($209.99) has a 4.0-inch TFT screen, wired USB/OBD-II connection, coverage for 58 makes, four systems (Engine/ABS/SRS/Transmission), nine reset services, and free lifetime updates over a TF card. The CR MAX ($369.95, down from $489.99) moves to a 7-inch Android touchscreen, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, 58 makes, and 50 service functions. The CR MAX BT ($409.99, down from $508.99) adds Bluetooth VCI and "OE-Level ECU Coding" for eight brand groups (BMW, VAG, Hyundai-Kia, Ford, Mazda, Renault, Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge, Subaru) but is currently backordered.

At the top, the CR Eagle ($849.95, down from $1,221.19) has a 10-inch screen, 128GB storage, a 10,000mAh battery rated around eight hours, J2534 pass-thru, CAN-FD and DoIP support, and ships with four TPMS sensors, a videoscope, and 14 OBD-I adapters included. The CR Eagle P 2026 ($1,199.99, down from $1,899.99) and CR Ultra P ($1,499.95, down from $2,599.99, claiming 200+ makes worldwide) sit just below it. The flagship, CR Unicorn S, lists at $3,499.99, covering both passenger cars and heavy trucks.

Not every model gets "lifetime updates." The CR Legend ($679.99, down from $1,399.00, currently out of stock) is listed with "3 years free updates" — iCarsoft never reconciles that against the lifetime-update language on the CR MAX and CR Eagle pages. There's a smaller spec gap too: the brand's blog describes the CR Pro ($269.00) and CR Pro+ ($299.95) as having "49 reset functions plus 46 brand-specific services," while the CR MAX BT page advertises "50 Service Functions" — a one-function gap never explained.

The i-Series covers the budget end: i800 Plus ($69.00) and i820 ($95.99) are the only two models with published specs; i610, i620, i902, i906, and i980 sit in the $113.99–$189.95 range in the catalogue, but their spec pages return a 404.

Single-brand pricing is consistent across families: a V1.0 base model typically runs $109.95–$113.95, scaling to a V4.0 at $229.99–$249.99 depending on the brand group, across roughly 30 single-brand models total.

Price and the range iCarsoft publishes

Across the catalogue, the lowest price is $35.95 for an adapter and the highest is $3,499.99 for the CR Unicorn S. Most buyers shopping for an actual scanner will land between $69 (i800 Plus) and roughly $1,500 (CR Ultra P), with the Unicorn S as a clear outlier above that.

Shipping

iCarsoft advertises free shipping on all orders to the Lower 48 US states with no minimum order — the policy page calls it "free shipping on all initial purchases." Hawaii and Alaska are excluded and charge $75–$93 by weight and size. The UK and Australia also ship free, with Australia's remote areas routed through Aramex. Carriers are DHL, UPS, FedEx, or Aramex, and the brand won't ship to P.O. boxes or military APO/FPO addresses. Changing a shipping address is free before a tracking number is issued, but costs $20–$30 after. iCarsoft doesn't publish a shipping policy for countries outside the US, UK, and Australia.

One real contradiction lives here: the shipping policy page says "Estimated delivery time is 7-14 business days for all regions," while the homepage separately claims "Fast shipping within 3-7 business days." iCarsoft hasn't reconciled those two numbers anywhere we could find.

Returns

iCarsoft gives a 30-day return window from delivery. To qualify, the item must be unopened, unused, and in original packaging with all accessories, and the customer needs written approval from service@icarsoft-us.com before shipping anything back. Refunds process within 5 business days of the returned item arriving and should post to the original payment method within 10 business days after that.

Excluded from returns entirely: professional-grade units and products with activated software, accessories, special orders, gifts, used items, damaged or incomplete returns, and anything past 30 days. Refused or undeliverable US orders have the original shipping fee deducted from the refund; international refusals can add duties or fees.

Two of iCarsoft's own policy pages disagree with each other here. The refund policy states "A 15% restocking fee applies to non-defective returns," while the terms of service state "No restocking to be charged to the consumers for the return of the product." Separately, the refund policy says "Return shipping costs are at your own expense," while the terms of service say "Customers will only be charged once for shipping costs (this includes returns)." Both pairs are live at once with no explanation — confirm the actual terms with support before assuming either version applies to your return.

Warranty

iCarsoft states a 1-year warranty on "all products." The CR Unicorn S carries an additional "2-year update term," though it isn't clear whether that means hardware coverage or just continued software updates. Software updates are currently Windows-only — the brand's FAQ confirms there's no Mac OS support for the update process.

What iCarsoft doesn't say anywhere we could find: what voids the warranty (drops, water, misuse), how to file a claim, any filing deadline, and whether the one-year term covers software as well as hardware.

What iCarsoft does not publish

A fair amount of what a buyer would want before paying $200–$1,500 for a scan tool isn't on the site. iCarsoft says the CR series supports 58 vehicle makes but never names them — only the count, broken into "35 European, 6 American, 17 Asian." The warranty page gives a one-year term with no exclusion list and no claims process. The Halloween2026 code page names eligible models but not a minimum order amount or expiration date. Several i-Series spec pages (i610, i620, i902, i906, i980) return a 404 instead of actual specs, and pricing for the MarineScan X9 is missing from the collection page entirely.

One outside source adds a data point here, separate from anything iCarsoft itself says. According to iamcarhacker.com, run by Juraj Lukacko, an auto electrician who tested the hardware directly (published August 2025, updated June 2026), the CR MAX scored 8.2/10, with the review noting the advertised "49 service resets" included some functions that "didn't work on some cars." That's a third party's hands-on finding, not something iCarsoft publishes — it doesn't fill the gaps above, just adds context from someone who used the device.

Who should skip this brand

Anyone who needs a firm delivery estimate should be cautious: iCarsoft's own pages disagree on whether shipping takes 3–7 or 7–14 business days, with no way to tell which applies from the public site. Buyers who want an uncontested return policy should pause too — the restocking fee and return-shipping-cost language contradict each other between the refund policy and the terms of service, so the real cost of a return isn't calculable from the published pages alone.

Shoppers who need the exact list of 58 supported makes, rather than a count, won't find it published. The iamcarhacker.com review is also a reminder that even a well-specced unit like the CR MAX hits functions that don't work on every car, so anyone needing guaranteed bidirectional support on an unusual make should treat the marketed function count as a ceiling, not a promise. And anyone who needs Mac compatibility for firmware updates should skip this brand — updates currently run on Windows only.

How to use the discount code

The current public code, `Halloween2026`, takes $10 off eligible orders. iCarsoft names the eligible models directly: CR Ultra P, CR Eagle P, CR MAX P, CR Pro S, the V4.0 single-brand models (POR/MB/LR/VOL/VAWS/US/JP/DE), and the MT PRO, MT PRO Mini, and MT V6 Plus. It does not publish a minimum order amount or an expiration date, so treat both as unknown. If you're weighing the CR MAX P specifically, confirm it's still on the eligible list before checkout — the code doesn't apply to every model.

Read iCarsoft's actual refund and shipping pages before checkout rather than trusting the homepage summary, since several contradictions above sit inside those two policies. For the current iCarsoft coupon code alongside any other live offers, or to browse the full lineup first, see the full iCarsoft coupon list before deciding which series fits your car.
